The Purpose of CMMC 2.0
CMMC 2.0 exists to protect sensitive government data across the industrial base. It creates a single set of cybersecurity rules for all contractors. It replaces previous self-reporting models with a system of mandatory, verified compliance. The result is a more secure supply chain where a company’s security practices are formally validated.
The Direct Business Requirement
This certification is now a common prerequisite for new Department of War contracts. It is included in an increasing number of solicitations. Without the certification, a company is ineligible to bid on those contracts. By securing our certification, The Lindgren Group remains eligible for this work.
A Documented Standard for Partners
The certification provides our partners with documentation. It shows procurement officers and prime contractors that we have met a verified security standard. Our Certification Process
The Lindgren Group completed the steps for CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certification. We engaged with an authorized C3PAO or Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization. This organization conducted a formal assessment of our implementation of the 110 security controls in NIST SP 800-171. Our successful completion of this assessment resulted in certification.
The Lindgren Group’s Position
The Lindgren Group is now CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certified. This means our security practices have been validated by an independent party. For our clients, this certification allows us to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for Department of War programs. It provides a clear answer to security questions in proposals and teaming agreements. We are prepared to support contracts that require this certification.
