Bright dip is a chemical process that removes oxides and enhances the brightness of base metals while providing a shiny finish to the original base material color. The finished part brightness is dependent on the type of base material. It is performed on copper and brass substrates.

In addition, the bright dip process does not leave any deposit on the part’s surface that might interfere with later processing steps.

The parts are first cleaned to remove the oil and dirt on them from processing and manufacturing. After the parts are cleaned, they are processed with acid-based chromate conversion coating. The film that forms adds shelf life and prolongs future tarnish and corrosion to the base material.
