Avtec Finishing Systems offers Nitric Acid Passivation, Sodium Dichromate, and Citric Acid Passivation to industries throughout the United States, specializing in the Medical, Aerospace, and Defense Industries. Our Nadcap and ISO-certified facilities adhere to stringent process controls to ensure repeatability in processing the most critical components. Passivation removes free iron from the surface of stainless materials, preventing oxidation.

Applications and Specifications of Passivate

Passivation can be performed on most grades and types of stainless steel such as: Austenitic, Duplex, Martensitic, Free Machining, Ferritic, and precipitation hardening grades. The purpose of passivation is to clean and remove free iron creating a passive layer to prevent rust.
